There is probably no state, not even a "banana state", in the world in which so many heads flew to the Chief State Prosecutors and the main spy flags as in the morally and institutionally disfigured B&amp;H, writes Dnevni list.
It is therefore no wonder that for almost 25 years we have been stylistically nurturing and living terrible crime and corruption and nepotism. Marinko Jurčević, Milorad Barašin and Goran Salihović picked up their rags for well-known or mysterious reasons and left their overwhelming duties.

The late Barašin stumbled upon a trap, he was filmed in pizzeria in Sarajevo with arms smugglers . Then Minister of Defense, the controversial Selmo Cikotić, was also in the company. Then the Chief Prosecutor was "done" by the "service" by breaking into the apartment where he was staying and there was no rescue.
In general, the discovery with Barašin, Cikotić and Tešić resulted in the forced resignations of the prosecutor and the minister, while the notorious smuggler disappeared in an unknown direction, where he is probably still located.
Barašin and Cikotić's association with persons prone to illegal arms trafficking was filmed by police agencies in charge of monitoring and stalking thieves. Last year, the former president of the HJPC, Milan Tegeltija, was filmed in a trap, allegedly assembling a corrupt deal with a planted "whistleblower", an entrepreneur from Krajina. Later, the "bug" was set up in a conversation with the holder of the judicial office.

These days, the public is occupied with the famous "babine", for those who do not know it is a traditional tour and gifting of a newborn and a happy family, a few days after the child comes into this world.
Thus, in a Sarajevo house, as if by chance and on the way to the "babine", the head of ISA Osman Mehmedagić Osmica and the president of the Court of B&amp;H Ranko Debevec met. The public is not naive, when one bitten by snakes is afraid of the lizzard. This time, it did not swallow cheap tricks with "babine" at a mutual friend, it is stated in the text of "Dnevni list".

The lewd meeting took place in the context of the recent ruling of the Court of B&amp;H on several indictments against "Osmica", and that is where all credibility and all alibis about the alleged coincidence fall.
After all, a case was immediately "formed" against Debevec before the competent investigative institutions. Some go so far in drawing parallels with some earlier compromising close encounters like that of Barašin and Cikotić with the smugglers that they demand the unconditional withdrawal and sanctioning of President Debevec because he met with his "client", who has confirmed indictment.
It also warns of the controversial concealment of dual citizenship and even another name. However, the days at the beginning of the year will be marked as a convulsive fight between the SDA and Bakir Izetbegović to save two loyal and crucial people, Osman Mehmedagić and Ranko Debevec.

As if haunted positions: all the chief prosecutors and chiefs of the ISA had to resign before their terms expired! On the other hand, it has been shown so far that the directors of SIPA still saved face and ended their mandates without affairs or scandals, even though there were attempts to mount Mirko Lujić for a small amount which he appropriated for separate life. Goran Zubac was sentenced to one year, but not for crime or corruption, but for refusing to send special forces to the Presidency building during those well-known protests. Chief prosecutors and ISA chiefs did not resist the challenge of “sin” and resigned…
Sarajevo analysts believe Osman Mehmedagić's primary problem is the surrounding he comes from, both politically and privately.
His predecessors as heads of intelligence and security services (RDA and FISS) Bakir Alispahić, Munir Alibabić, Kemal Ademović ingloriously ended their mandates under the burden of the most difficult mortgages and scandals. Like Osmica, they filled the columns of Sarajevo newspapers, especially political tabloids.
Mehmedagić, again, unlike his predecessors, is linked to the criminal underworld through his wife, a former folk singer, who was "hit by the law" because of her propensity to consume narcotics.
All this was known to Izetbegović when he decided to appoint Mehmedagić as the head of the ISA. Few people on the mattress today are surprised by Izetbegović's decisions to position Asim Sarajlić as the "second man" of the party or Mehmedagić as the "third man".

<h2>Does Osmica still have a ‘blessing’?</h2>

He has already started paying "fat" guilds for such decisions, and such people will probably vause his downfall. However, the behavior of American diplomats in B&amp;H is doubtful because, as it is a common opinion, it was the Americans who gave their consent for the appointment of Mehmedagić as the head of the ISA.
Once upon a time, it was written that the Americans ultimately asked Alija Izetbegović to remove Alispahić from the position of RDA director, due to the "Pogorelica" affair, while the late High Representative Paddy Ashadown removed Alibabić from the position of FISS director.
Mehmedagić and Izetbegović had to convince the Americans that the ISA would sincerely fight terrorism with all its potential. And it was probably crucial that the Americans name his appointment.
Whether Osmica still has an American blessing or was released down the water will be known in this new year. However, it is a pity that so many leading people in the main levers of the rule of law and law enforcement officers so shamelessly tarnish the reputation of the state and end up in the dump as ex-servants of the masterminds, immoral and immature. - In order to accurately inform and protect the integrity of the institution, we inform the public that the said case was on 30.01.2020., almost a year ago, was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of the Brčko District of B&amp;H, which is independent in its work. B&amp;H Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik was released for home treatment today after 16 days of fighting the coronavirus. He addressed the press after leaving the University Clinical Center of RS in Banja Luka and shared his experiences about the two-week treatment.
The director of the UCC RS, Vlado Đajić, said that Dodik had bilateral pneumonia and that by working together, in consultation with doctors from Serbia, he successfully ended this battle and can continute home treatment.
Dodik thanked for the dedicated work and approach he had not seen in a long time.
- People were always there like me. They dealt with us patients. And I am grateful to everyone. This was my hardest 25 days. When I listen to Dr. Đajić and his team, I see that it was quite serious. I am grateful to the people, the support staff, the teams of doctors from Serbia, Slovenia, the USA and everyone who was, not only around me, but who helped any person. I am convinced that this is a reference health institution - said Dodik.

He added that these were difficult days for him and his family, and that a period of rehabilitation awaits him. He told the people to be careful.
- Don't be naive. When Dr. Đajić said that he went to church and lit a candle for me, he was aware of where I was. It was problematic, this is my big victory, but also for a team of people. The President of the Alliance for a Better Future of B&amp;H, Fahrudin Radončić, signed an objection addressed to the Central Election Commission, which refers to the accuracy of the published results of the Local Elections in the City of Mostar.
As stated in the explanation of the objection, in the determined and published results of the Local Elections 2020 in the City of Mostar, candidate Aleksandar Pikula has 0 preferential votes at the Tekija 2 polling station, which does not correspond to the results recorded in the CR (majority vote) which show that this candidate has 125 preferential votes.
By incorrectly entering the number of preferential votes, this candidate is positioned one place lower within the list, while if the data in the determined and published results were correct, ie identical to the data from the Form for cumulative results CR, which correspond to the actual situation, he would advance by one place.
By correcting the incorrectly entered data, Pikula would position himself on the sixth place of the candidate list of the Coalition for Mostar and would have the possibility of winning a mandate in case one of the elected councilors ends his mandate in the City Council for any reason.

England on Tuesday entered a strict national lockdown aimed at stemming a steep rise in virus cases that a senior government minister warned could last into March.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the measures, including school closures and a ban on leaving home except for exercise and essential shopping, on Monday evening.
Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove told Sky News on Tuesday morning that he could not say precisely when the lockdown, announced as lasting six weeks, would be lifted, warning of "very, very difficult weeks".
The measures will be reviewed from February 15, he said, but the government cannot "predict with certainty" whether they will be lifted then.
-I think it is right to say that as we enter March we should be able to lift some of these restrictions but not necessarily all- he added.
The measures began in England on Tuesday morning and will become law in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are also bringing in strict lockdowns including school closures.
The lockdown comes as the surge of a new strain of the virus that is said to be more infectious threatens to overwhelm hospitals, despite the rollout of two vaccines, including UK's own Oxford University/AstraZeneca shot from Monday, bringing hopes of beating the virus in the coming months.
The UK has already vaccinated over one million people.
A total of 58,784 people tested positive in the UK on Monday, with cases in the last seven days up 50 percent on the previous week.
Schoolchildren will not sit crucial end-of-year exams needed to enter higher education as usual, Gove said.
-We will be putting in place alternative arrangements- he said.
He also said the UK could impose new restrictions on international travel. Currently quarantine is compulsory for those arriving from some countries but not virus testing.
Gove said he had discussed this with the leaders of the other UK nations, adding: "We will be coming forward very shortly with new proposals."
Overall, Britain has been among the worst hit in the world by the outbreak, with some 2.7 million cases and 75,431 deaths.
Johnson was widely criticised for hesitating too long about the measures, particularly school closures.
But he won some support on Tuesday. The Times wrote: "Mr Johnson said that the weeks ahead would be the hardest yet. But at least we have given ourselves a fighting chance."&nbsp;

The Sarajevo portal "Raport" published a text in which it reveals new prosecutorial evidence of inappropriate contacts between the President of the Court of B&amp;H Ranko Debevec and the Director of the Intelligence and Security Agency of B&amp;H Osman Mehmedagić Osmica, who is already on trial for abuse of office and powers and a special investigation is being conducted in other cases.
If Debevec can possibly try to defend his private afternoon meetings with Osman Mehmedagić Osmica with a common "line of work", how will he explain the reasons for his friendship with the multiple accused and SDA party executor Asim Sarajlić.

After we published the information that Asim Sarajlić will be questioned again in the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H on Thursday, the „Raport“ brings the details of the new legal mess in which this, although not on paper, high-ranking SDA member found himself.
Namely, "Raport" published the information that Sarajlić will again appear before the prosecutors, who this time are interested in the purchase agreement of the SDA delegate in the House of Peoples of B&amp;H.
As it is already known, the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H is investigating Osman Mehmedagić, the director of ISA, on several grounds. As part of these investigations, prosecutors "caught the eye" of a transaction that was recorded on the account of Mehmedagić's wife - former singer Amela Šehović.
Namely, the Audi Q5, which she bought from Asim Sarajlić, has been driven in her name since May 27th, 2019.! The contracted value of the vehicle was 62,000 KM.

Precisely this knowledge is a new moment in the unwinding of the political-intelligence ball.
The problem due to which this purchase and sale is disputable is that Asim Sarajlić is a member of the Joint Commission for Supervision of the Work of ISA, of which Mehmedagić is the head.
What is even more interesting in the whole case is that the tracking of the trace of the disputed car led to new information in another case, which is also being handled by the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H.
As the „Raport“ announced, the Prosecutor's Office has opened a case on inappropriate contact between Mehmedagić and the President of the Court of B&amp;H, Ranko Debevec. The controversial meeting wbout which first „Raport“ reported took place on 14th of December.
Following Sarajlić's car acquisitions, it was established that after the sale of the Audi Q5, he bought a newer variant - the Audi Q7.
With that vehicle, Sarajlić drove to the Sarajevo restaurant Una on December 15th. According to our knowledge, the company welcomed him there. And this time - legally inappropriate. At the same table sat, next to Sarajlić: Mehmedagić and Debevec.
According to unofficial information, the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H also documented this meeting by removing the footage from the surveillance cameras.

<h2>Sarajlić's problems with the law</h2>

Sarajlić has been skimming around various prosecutor's offices and courts for some time.
Namely, Sarajlić is one of the accused in the "Bosnia" case (arrested for high corruption). What is interesting about this case is that it was "documented" by ISA, with whose director Sarajlić cooperates excellently today.
Sarajlić is also under investigation for the "Asim" affair. This is about abuse of office, corruption and bribery, and receiving gifts.
That's not all.
Sarajlić is one of the witnesses in the "Respirators" case. He was punished by the Court of B&amp;H because he did not want to give the code of his mobile phone, on which, prosecutors suspect, new evidence can be hidden, the Raport writes.

Indonesia’s mass vaccination programme is set to start next week, a senior minister said on Monday, pending authorisation from the country’s food and drug agency (BPOM), as about 700,000 doses of vaccines have already been widely distributed.

Currently battling one of Asia’s most stubborn coronavirus epidemics, Indonesia has secured more than 329 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, most notably from Pfizer and its partner BioNTech, and AstraZeneca.
Those to be used in the first phase are CoronaVac, the vaccine of China’s Sinovac, of which Indonesia has received 3 million doses.
Airlangga Hartarto, the country’s chief economic minister, said the vaccination programme is scheduled to start next week, pending data from BPOM, which he said draws findings from the clinical trials in Brazil and Turkey.
The vaccine will be administered for free across the archipelago, with the rollout expected to be completed within 15 months. The government expected the programme to cost more than 74 trillion rupiah ($5.33 billion), Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said.
Indonesia’s state-owned drugmaker Bio Farma has already dispatched about 714,000 CoronaVac doses to the country’s 32 provinces, it said on Monday.
Bambang Heriyanto, corporate secretary for Bio Farma, told Reuters the vaccines had been pre-positioned to save time and allow inoculations to start as soon as BPOM’s authorisation is given.
Senior BPOM official Lucia Rizka Andalusia said interim data from late stage clinical trials in West Java plus findings from Brazil and Turkey needed to be studied, but she was hopeful the emergency use authorization would be issued.
Early results from CoronaVac late-stage trials showed it was 91.25% effective, while researchers in Brazil have said it was more than 50% effective, though full results were yet to be released at the company’s request.
Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Indonesia’s health minister, has said that Indonesia needs to inoculate about 181 million people, or roughly 67% of its population, to reach herd immunity.
He said 1.3 million health workers would be first in line for the shots, followed by public servants.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, you have a crisis of governance, said in an exclusive interview for "Dnevni avaz" Ambassador Johann Sattler, Special Representative and Head of the European Union Delegation to B&amp;H, talking about the migrant crisis that has escalated in recent weeks.
- You call this a migrant crisis, and I would call it a crisis of the administration and functionality of state structures in B&amp;H. We are talking about some 1,700 people who were left homeless. Surely the state can find a solution. We are talking about a crisis of governance, unsatisfactory coordination of various structures. I am sorry that for the second time at the end of the year we have a bad picture that comes from B&amp;H from Bihać and that area - says Sattler.

According to him, the European Union still does not trust B&amp;H institutions to entrust them with the management of the financial assistance they send to migrants.
- This whole story is a reputational risk for B&amp;H, which is presented as a state that does not care, and that is not true. There are people with open hearts here, this is inadequate management and now we have to deal with it. Every life is valuable. When it comes to the funds that we have entrusted to international organizations, I would, believe me, prefer to provide it through line ministries, but it must become a system, as in other countries like Serbia. You have seen that both the leaders of the EU and the member states are looking for urgent action - adds Sattler.
Ambassador Sattler, these people want to go to the European Union.
 Isn't it easier for you to make it possible for them and for the money you send to ensure their stay in B&amp;H, where they want to leave, to be invested in their departure to where they started?&nbsp;- You must understand that B&amp;H has its international obligations, it is not a question of whether I will do it, but a matter of international conventions. If the highest state bodies make a decision, and the decision of the Council of Ministers of B&amp;H was for "Lipa" to be permanent, and "Bira" a temporary solution for three to four months, it should be implemented. This is a question of the rule of law. And again the question of the reputation of the state. I know they have political differences, but this is a matter of life and death. I really call on leading people to come up with a solution. What can be done? The first thing is the tents set up by the AFB&amp;H and that is good, now we need to provide water and electricity. According to the decision of the Council of Ministers of B&amp;H, in order for "Lipa" to become a permanent center, works need to be started. Many offered help, including EU members. And the third thing is a fairer distribution of migrants. This country is not made up of just two cantons that are now dealing with that crisis of the Una – Sana Canton and Sarajevo Canton.

Do you understand the local authorities of the Una – Sana Canton? They simply want to protect their citizens because everything becomes a security risk…
- Of course I understand the anger and resentment of the citizens of Una-Sana Canton. It is not fair that 90 percent of the burden of migrants is in only one canton. That is why I am talking about a fairer distribution of the burden and that is why I advocated the opening of smaller centers. Serbia has 25-30 migrant centers for about 50-200 people. That would be a good way for B&amp;H as well.
Did you discuss this with the RS authorities and ask them to do so?
- Of course, we have regular communication with them and I will continue to emphasize that this is everyone's responsibility. It is unacceptable that 49 percent did not take care of any migrants. That is why I will insist on a fairer distribution.
B&amp;H is still waiting for the first vaccines against the coronavirus, and the domestic authorities are terribly slow. The EU has announced that it will send part of the vaccines to help the Balkans. When and how many vaccines will arrive in B&amp;H?
- Let me say about the coronavirus in B&amp;H. Although the numbers seem a bit better, currently no one should be fooled, this is a very deceptive period and we must be careful and maintain measures to push through another three to four months that will be equally dangerous. When it comes to major measures, they were enacted in a timely and proper manner at the start of the pandemic. B&amp;H has become part of the green transport corridors, EU public procurement procedures and we see that the system can work. As far as vaccines are concerned, the EU is one of the major donors to the Covax mechanism and through it vaccines will be provided to everyone, not just rich countries, but obviously somewhat more slowly. It is for this reason that the EC acted, the President of the EC said that the Balkan countries are our privileged partners and that we will provide millions of euros for the procurement of vaccines. Nobody knows the dynamics at this moment, it will depend on the amount of vaccines, which vaccine it will be, whether there will be more types, etc. These are all questions, but I believe that by spring at the latest we will have vaccines for the most vulnerable populations, people over the age of 65, medical workers and those working in nursing homes.

Following Biden's victory in the US presidential race, a new international initiative is expected to address key issues in B&amp;H. What can we expect this year, is there a chance for something that would completely change the rules of the game?
- I am sure that 2021. could be the right year for B&amp;H, having in mind the attention that is focused on cooperation with the Americans and with others on the ground. In life you always have opportunities coming and going. We have seen this in B&amp;H in the past 25 years. I think they should be used. This 2021. is not an election year and it is time to address those difficult issues of functionality that we talked about at the beginning of the interview. Constitutional change is not a "dirty" word or process. All 27 EU member states had to go through changes and revisions of the legal system, including constitutional changes. This is the year to address these issues. I look forward to working with Americans as well as others on the field. We showed that cooperation in Mostar. It is not impossible to solve them. We must have engaged politicians, a spirit of compromise, but also a broader national debate, where we will hear from citizens and civil society what should be included in the reform package for 2021. Every citizen wants a new beginning, wants to see changes immediately.
You are talking about the reform package, does that mean that something is already being prepared for this year?
- Speaking of this year, things should happen before the next election cycle. There is no time to lose. Contacts are always there, but it cannot be just an international element and domestic politicians, but it must be as wide a population as possible, citizens, young people ... A huge number of young people are moving out and this is a trend that we must stop. These are difficult issues that we have to deal with.

<h2>Candidate status is questionable</h2>

Domestic politicians often say B&amp;H can become an EU candidate by the middle of this year. Is that possible?

I will be the first to advocate for candidate status, but we need to see work on 14 priorities. These issues have been there for two years, but there has been very little progress. Without that, there will be no mood, because you need a unanimous decision of all states.

<h2>The issue of a new High Representative was not considered</h2>

Ambassador, will we have a new High Representative soon?
- I am the EU representative in B&amp;H and I am a member of the Peace Implementation Council, which is in charge of this issue. I can inform you that this issue has not come up for consideration. Maybe the best address is somewhere else, maybe in Berlin, for that question. But if we talk about Germany's role in B&amp;H, we are witnessing that country's continued engagement and assistance in the region. Chancellor Angela Merkel has launched the Berlin Process, we will have a summit this year and currently, as we speak, Germany is engaged in helping B&amp;H manage migration, it has a very constructive and important role.
Do you think Mr. Inzko should leave?
- I do not want to speculate about that out of respect for the current High Representative.

Put yourself in the position of B&amp;H citizens who see vaccination in Croatia and Serbia. People are disappointed, B&amp;H is again the last in line and is waiting for some donations...
- B&amp;H will not be the last in line, I assure you, thanks to the EU. If we are going to talk about Croatia, it is a member state and that is why you want to become a member of the EU, because it brings certain privileges. Vaccination in the EU is one of the nice stories, we got the best price, we provided vaccines for all 27 member states, there were not many of them, of course, and there is criticism everywhere, but the immunization of the population has begun.

At today's session, the Government of the Republic of Croatia made a decision to declare a Day of Mourning in Croatia for the eight young people who tragically died in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
-The message of solidarity and support is one right decision - said the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković.
As stated in the Decision, the Day of Mourning will be tomorrow, January 5th.
- The day of mourning is marked by the obligatory display of the flag of the Republic of Croatia on half a spear on all buildings in which state authorities and bodies of local and regional self-government units are located, and buildings in which the activity of legal entities is located or is performed, that is natural persons perform independent activity - it is stated in the Decision.
Also, entertainment events cannot be held on the Day of Mourning, and legal entities that perform television and radio activities will adapt their programs to the marking of the Day of Mourning, especially by broadcasting programs that by their nature correspond to the marking of that day.

The OHR, the US Embassy in B&amp;H and the OSCE Mission to B&amp;H commented for "Avaz" on the meeting between the President of the Court of B&amp;H Ranko Debevec and the Director of the Intelligence and Security Agency ISA, Osman Mehmedagić.
As the media reported last week, the two met secretly on December 14th last year, exactly on the same day when the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H filed the second indictment against Mehmedagić in the "Security Check" affair, which was officially rejected today.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Sunday warned the country to expect tougher restrictions to combat spiralling coronavirus cases, as a row flared over whether schools should reopen. 
-It may be that we need to do things in the next few weeks that will be tougher in many parts of the country-" Johnson told the BBC's The Andrew Marr Show.
-I'm fully, fully reconciled to that.-
Britain recorded 57,725 new cases on Saturday, its highest total of the entire pandemic, with a new strain of the virus tearing across the country.
Health officials are concerned that the surging numbers could overwhelm hospitals during their busiest time of the year.
Opposition Labour leader Keir Starmer urged the prime minister to immediately impose national lockdown measures.
-It's no good the prime minister hinting that further restrictions are coming into place in a week or two or three- he told British media, adding the virus was "clearly out of control".
-So I say bring in those restrictions now, national restrictions within the next 24 hours.-
Much of Britain is already under strict regional rules to prevent the spread, although primary schools are set to reopen in most of the country when the Christmas holiday ends on Monday.
However, around one million four to 11 year olds will learn remotely after the government announced primary schools in London, where case rates are particularly high, would remain closed.
Johnson told parents elsewhere that they should "absolutely" send their young children to school when term begins.
-I understand people's frustrations, I understand people's anxieties but there is no doubt in my mind that schools are safe and that education is a priority.

The government is also concerned that closing schools will lead to further chaos for students sitting their final exams in the May and June.
Johnson, who has been criticised for his handling of the pandemic that has killed more than 75,000 people in Britain, is pinning his hopes on the mass rollout of the recently approved AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine.
Britain will have 530,000 doses of the vaccine available for use from Monday.
-We can see the way ahead in terms of a route forward, we can see how we can get out of this. But we do have a tough period ahead- he warned.
Britain has already vaccinated around one million people after approving the Pfizer vaccine in early December, Johnson said Sunday.
-We hope to be able to do tens of millions in the course of the next three months- said the prime minister.

SBB warned about this, which is why they sent an objection to the Central Election Commission on the accuracy of the published results. Namely, in the determined and published results of the local elections in the City of Mostar, Pikula has 0 preferential votes at the Tekija 2 polling station, which does not correspond to the results on the CR Collective Results Form (majority vote), where Pikula has 125 preferential votes.
By incorrect entry of preferential votes, Pikula is positioned in one place lower within the list, while if the data in the determined and published results were correct, ie identical to the data from the Form for cumulative results of CR, which correspond to the actual situation, he would advance by one place.
By correcting the incorrectly entered data, Pikula would position himself on the sixth place of the candidate list of the Coalition for Mostar and would have the possibility of winning a mandate in case one of the elected councilors ends his mandate in the City Council for any reason.
How important it is for the mistake to be corrected is clear if it is known that if Zlatko Guzin became mayor, Nataša Jekić, who is in fourth place, would accept the position of chief advisor, and considering that Salem Marić's mandate in the House of Representatives of the FB&amp;H Parliament was recently verified, Pikula would automatically enter the Mostar City Council. This would give SBB a third mandate, which, obviously, some want to stop.

Friar Marinko Leko, pastor in Rakitno at the beginning of the memorial mass for the tragically killed young people on New Year's Eve near Posušje, said that he did not dream that the Bishop of Mostar Petar Palić would come to this parish on such an occasion, which surprised everyone.
