While the region is roaming with scandals of abuse of power and sexual abuse of the weak and powerless, similar topics are opening up in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thus, the famous actress Hasija Borić revealed that also among the B&amp;H elite were happening similar things.
Without linking this affair with individuals from the Court of B&amp;H, however, after the controversy between Ranko Debevec and our journalist, questions arise as to whether the leaders of the institutions, which must be a moral example, really work in accordance with these principles.

Namely, Ranko Debevec, President of the Court of BH, does not use his position to publicly demonstrate his own political and social power by unusually close ties with the director of the Intelligence and Security Agency or socializing in pubs with other people in power.
Debevec, who wants to leave the impression of a benevolent judicial official dedicated exclusively to his work, seems to have his dark side, where from the position of power of the President of the Court he affects the lives of ordinary employees of the highest judicial institution in B&amp;H.
The story mostly begins with the arrival of Debevec at the head of the Court of B&amp;H. By abusing his position and the subordinate position of some of the employees of the Court of B&amp;H, Debevec, according to our sources, began an emotional relationship with A. Ć., an employee of the Court of B&amp;H.
How serious the relationship was (in the meantime, A. Ć. got married) is also shown by the fact that the two of them also traveled by car to Spain, where Debevec uses another name and owns an apartment by the sea. Our sources claim that he was accompanied by official bodyguards.

Those familiar with the events even talk about the violent outbursts of President Debevec on that joint vacation. Allegedly, he threw A. Ć. out on the street, and she, having nowhere to go, went to her relatives in Switzerland.
For now, it is not known whether a similar fate befell another "friend" of President Debevec V. M., who is also an employee of the Court of B&amp;H. He was reportedly in a relationship with the two of them at the same time.
According to our sources, he helped V. M. to her finish college in Sokolac, after which, contrary to practice, she was promoted in the service within the Court of B&amp;H.

A special feature of this story is the fact that Debevec is a married man, but he hides this information like a snake hides its legs.
However, the point of all this is not whether someone cheats on his wife, but that he abuses the power of the President of the Court towards employees and that he spends state resources in predatory display of that power and domination towards young employees.
The question also arises as to whether the President of the Court himself signed a holiday or a day off for his employee to take her on holiday to his apartment in Spain, which is not even registered in his property card.
It will be interesting to see whether Osman Mehmedagić Osmica, the director of ISA and the best friend and political mentor of the President of the Court of B&amp;H Ranko Debevec, will stop the reactions of the Disciplinary Prosecutor's Office this time or the Office will react adequately.

<h2>‘This can only be washed with blood and nothing else’</h2>

That the "real face" of the President of the Court of B&amp;H also has mafia dimensions, and this can also explain the fear of his victims from "emotional relationships", is best illustrated by the text message he sent to his former friend (this is the man from whose hallway the recordings showing the inadmissible association of the accused director of ISA Osman Mehmedagić Osmica and the president of the Court Ranko Debevac were excluded).
Attached to this text, we publish a photocopy of his message in which he literally states that what is being done to him "can only be washed with blood and nothing else."
The editorial board of "Dnevni avaz" knows the full identities of two employees of the Court of B&amp;H who were in a parallel affair with the President of the Court, but we do not publish their names because we believe that they are the victims of Ranko Debevec.

Speaking about providing a cold chain for vaccine distribution and storage, Rownak Khan announced that the cold chain equipment provided by UNICEF for B&amp;H is already on its way to Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed confidence that the first refrigerator should be in use by the end of January.
Minister Gudeljević thanked UNICEF for its great commitment to help with the procurement of vaccines and the provision of refrigerators, emphasizing this importance given the high demand for cold chain equipment not only in B&amp;H but in the market in general.
The officials also pointed out that UNICEF experts are working on examining the situation in health care institutions, their needs and capabilities, and that the delivered equipment will be in line with the testing that is already being done as well as the needs of modern health systems.
UNICEF Representative in B&amp;H also offered expert assistance during the entire vaccine procurement process. In this regard, it is expected that in the coming period, UNICEF experts will be available to the Ministry of Civil Affairs on a daily basis.

Director of the FB&amp;H Institute of Public Health Davor Pehar said today in Sarajevo that the first vaccines against COVID-19 in FB&amp;H should arrive at the end of this, or the beginning of next month. These will be Pfizer vaccines, and the public health institutes in FB&amp;H are ready to start the vaccination process.
After a meeting on the start of vaccination activities attended by representatives of the FB&amp;H Public Health Institute, the FB&amp;H Ministry of Health and the FB&amp;H cantonal public health institutions, Pehar said that they still have no precise information on the arrival of the quantities but that it should be between five and ten thousand doses.

When it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Silajdžić notes that the Dayton Agreement brought the necessary peace, but at the same time rewarded aggression and genocide.
-Speaking in the U.S. Senate, Mr. Biden clearly condemned the aggression against B&amp;H and crimes against civilians, just as he condemned the arms embargo that was in favor of the aggressor- Silajdžić pointed out.

The Greek coastguard said it recovered the body of a migrant and rescued 27 others who reached the island of Lesbos in icy weather after a voyage from Turkey.
The migrants, mostly from Somalia, landed on eastern Lesbos late Monday where they spent the night, a coastguard official said.
It was not clear what happened to their boat which has not been found.
One man appeared to have died of the cold, as temperatures dropped below freezing. His identity was not revealed.
-Authorities initially found 24 people including 15 women, a child and eight men- the official said.
But after being told that three others were missing, the coastguard found them on another Lesbos beach.
The 27 are to be transferred to a hospital in the island's main town of Mytilene.

Today, the Court of B&amp;H reacted to the text published on the "Dnevni avaz" portal, "Debevec lied to the public, Perić did not sign the letter of support".
The reaction from this judicial institution states that "the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not announce that all judges signed the statement of January 15th, 2021."
For the purpose of properly informing the public, the Public Information Department of the Court denies this allegation, because nowhere in the announcement of the Court dated January 15th 2021. it does not say that "all" judges of the Court confirm with their own signatures the rejection of falsely attributed authorship - it is said in the reaction.
It is also pointed out that "it is completely distorted to attribute to the President of the Court a statement which clearly states in the introduction that it is published by "judges of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina" and distributed by the Court's Public Information Department".

The name of Judge Perić just stands so that the public could conclude for themselves that not all judges signed - it is said in the reaction.
Instead of arguing with the President of the Court of B&amp;H Ranko Debevac, who again deceives the public that the Information Department of the Court of B&amp;H is independent of him, because it is clear that he himself, as President, directly manages that Department, a few simple facts should be pointed out:
Instead of possibly denying the allegations from the anonymous report against him in the first person, Mr. Debevec personally led the campaign for the judges to sign and make a public shield for his very controversial behavior.
From the statement given yesterday, on January 18th, by the Court of B&amp;H, it is explicitly written that "the judges of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina decisively reject the allegations from the anonymous so-called "open letter", which unequivocally suggests that all 50 judges did so.

Retroactive wit due to the discovery of "Avaz" and the recognition that Judge Branko Perić is not included in the qualification of "judge of the Court of B&amp;H", best show the panic of Mr. Debevec who persistently wants to hide behind the collective, instead of explaining to the Disciplinary Prosecutor's Office what is untrue in an anonymous report against him. 
After the open letter was first published yesterday by the „Patria“ portal, and then by many other portals, as well as the „Avaz“ portal, the general impression is that the letter revealing all the vices of the President of the Court of B&amp;H was not written by journalists, but by someone from the judiciary community who have known him for much longer and closer than anyone in the media.
Today's statement by Judge Perić that he did not want to sign the letter and that "it is not the judges who should deal with it, but the competent institutions" best shows his public need to say that "not all judges" signed Ranko Debevac's blank defense.
After all, why would Judge Perić publicly explain that he is not a signatory, if everything was so clear, as Ranko Debevec claims today through his press department.

<h2>Unnecessary pressure on the wrong side</h2>

Considering that Mr. Debevec, ie his media department, ie the Public Information Department of the Court of B&amp;H, is introducing someone's tendency to "demolish the Court of B&amp;H", it should be precisely clarified that the only destroyer of the Court of B&amp;H with his actions is exclusively the President of the Court. Mr. Debevec.
We understand Mr. Debevac's letter to "Avaz" as unnecessary pressure on the wrong side, ie the media, because it is obvious that by pressing "Dnevni avaz" he actually wants to discipline the judges of the Court of B&amp;H, who obviously run out of patience and can no longer remain silent because of his unpublished abuses of office and an unworthy behaviour of President of the Court of B&amp;H.
Finally, it is not clear why a man who should be an example of legality and precision is unable to interpret that there is only one Court statement on the "anonymous letter" from January 18th, and that nowhere on the Court's website is there a statement from B&amp;H Court judges of 15th January dealing with allegations from an anonymous letter (an anonymous letter was published in the media on 18th of January). This only further speaks of the great nervousness and insecurity of the President of the Court of B&amp;H, Ranko Debevec.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has rejected all appeals against the decision of the Central Election Commission CEC when it comes to the elections in Mostar. This means that there will be no new counting of votes, some portals announced today.
Three appeals were received against the CEC's decision to determine and publish the results after the recount, after significant discrepancies, by Naša stranka,Platform for Progress and the SDP, requesting a recount of all votes from regular polling stations in the city of Mostar. 
Due to various embezzlements that led to severe and mass election theft, the Court and the CEC were asked to react, but the Court rejected these appeals.

On the occasion of the so-called "open letter",of an unknown sender, in which judges of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina are listed as signatories, judges of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a public statement yesterday in which they distances themselves, as it was emphasized, from the allegations made in the anonymous "open letter" which was sent on January 14th, 2021.

<h2>There is no signature, Perić confirmed</h2>

The statement indicates the rejection of any authorship of the said text, which, as pointed out in the statement, is evidenced by the handwritten signatures of the judges of the Court of B&amp;H.
The court actually responded to an open letter requesting the resignation of President Ranko Debevec, stating that the judges of the Court of B&amp;H were not behind it. Thus, the statement lists all the names of the judges who signed it. However, what is visible is that the letter was not signed by Judge Branko Perić, although the reaction of this judicial institution claims otherwise and his name is on the list.
Judge Perić also confirmed this information for "Avaz", saying that he did not sign anything and that he doesn not know how his name ended up on the list.
- I'm the only one who didn't sign this letter. And I see that everyone announced that I signed, but I didn't. It can be seen in the signatures that were published, that there is no my handwritten signature. I think that judges should not participate in that - says Perić.
When asked how it is possible that the Court mentioned his name in a statement, Perić said:
-I have no idea really, it is like some mistake. It is my opinion that this case should be resolved by the institutions. Let's react by the rules. They have a public relations department and there should be some procedure there. What do judges have to mess with and write petitions - says Perić.
We remind you that in an open letter from judges and prosecutors, from which the Court distanced itself yesterday, it is stated that President Ranko Debevec is fulfilling the wishes of ISA Director Osman Mehmedagić.

- It is well-known fact, your "good" relations as the President of the Court of B&amp;H, Judge R.D., with the Director of the Intelligence and Security Agency of B&amp;H, O.M., and thus his mentors, especially during the criminal prosecution of the Director O.M., investigation, indictment and trials. We all know that as the President of the Court of B&amp;H, by abusing your position, you fulfill all wishes and orders, especially the abuse of authority of the director of ISA, O.M., especially when it comes to legalizing or concealing privatized and criminal activities of ISA and its shadow mentors – it is emphasized in the letter.

The letter then contains shocking details:
- Director of ISA O.M. blackmails You, President of the Court of B&amp;H, Judge R.D.,with compromising recordings of your numerous cases of so-called "horseshoeing", with compromising recordings of contacts with proven associates of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad at the beginning of your term as President of the Court, and with compromising explicit recordings of you with minors, especially teenage girls, which Your tendency has been a well-known fact to us in the Court and the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H for many years - the letter says.

India’s technology ministry has asked WhatsApp to withdraw changes to its privacy policy the messenger announced this month, saying the new terms take away choice from Indian users.
The demand creates a new headache for WhatsApp and its U.S. parent Facebook, which have placed big bets on the South Asian nation to expand their payments and other businesses.
-The proposed changes raise grave concerns regarding the implications for the choice and autonomy of Indian citizens- the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology wrote in an email to WhatsApp boss Will Cathcart dated Jan. 18.
-Therefore, you are called upon to withdraw the proposed changes- the ministry wrote in the letter seen by Reuters.
California-based Facebook invested $5.7 billion last year in the digital unit of Indian conglomerate Reliance with a huge part of that aimed at drawing in tens of millions of traditional shop owners to use digital payments via WhatsApp.
With 400 million users in India, WhatsApp has big plans for India’s growing digital payments space, including selling health insurance via partners.
Those aspirations could take a hit if Indians switch to rival messengers such as Signal and Telegram, downloads of which have surged after WhatsApp said on Jan. 4 it could share limited user data with Facebook and its group firms.
It is of “great concern” that Indian users have not been given the choice to opt out of this data sharing with Facebook companies and are being given less choice compared to the app’s European users, the tech ministry letter said.
“This differential and discriminatory treatment of Indian and European users is attracting serious criticism and betrays a lack of respect for the rights and interest of Indian citizens who form a substantial portion of WhatsApp’s user base,” it said.
The ministry asked WhatsApp to respond to 14 questions including on the categories of user data it collected, whether it profiled customers based on usage and cross-border data flows.
WhatsApp did not respond to a request for comment but has previously said the update to its privacy policy did not affect the privacy of users’ messages with friends, family and in groups.
The company said last week it would delay the new policy launch to May from February, after facing criticism from users in India and elsewhere to the new terms.
WhatsApp has launched a media advertising campaign in India to calm worried users. The update to the privacy policy has also resulted in two legal petitions in Indian courts.

Britain's Oxford University has received a donation of £100 million (112 million euros, $136 million) to research growing resistance to antibiotics, the university announced on Tuesday.
The sum, from British chemicals multinational Ineos, is one of the largest donations given to Oxford University in its long history. 
The funding will be used to launch a new institute to combat the growing phenomenon of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), caused by the increasing exposure of animals and humans to the medicines which treat diseases caused by bacteria.
Increasing antibiotic resistance already causes 1.5 million excess deaths each year, the University of Oxford has said.
By 2050, up to 10 million deaths each year could be caused because antibiotics and other antimicrobial drugs are no longer effective against common diseases.
Oxford's vice-chancellor Professor Louise Richardson said the coronavirus pandemic had shown the urgent need to deal with the "cataclysmic" threat posed to public health by antibiotic resistance.
-We certainly knew that there was a high potential for another pandemic, we were reminded of that many times, and yet we were caught unprepared- she said.
-We know that human antibiotics are, with every passing year, becoming fewer and fewer because of the growth of resistance so it's absolutely imperative that we act, and the impact of being unprepared for the pandemic I think reinforces the importance of acting before it's too late.-
Ineos chief executive Jim Ratcliffe said collaboration between industry and academia was "now crucial to fight against AMR".
-We are excited to partner with one of the world's leading research universities to accelerate progress in tackling this urgent global challenge- he added.
The discovery of penicillin -- the world's first antibiotic -- was made at Oxford and has subsequently saved millions of lives around the world.
In partnership with the British drugs company AstraZeneca, a team at Oxford University also developed one of the first vaccines to protect from Covid-19.
-The vaccines which have been created in record time and which offer light at the end of the tunnel were developed using research conducted long before Covid-19 struck- said David Sweetnam, an adviser to the Ineos Oxford Institute.
"It's clear that we must be looking right now for new antibiotics with the same urgency as we have been for vaccines," he added.
