The 29-year-old also founded his own company "Block Insight", which provides services to clients dealing with digital currencies. He participates in technology projects in many countries around the world. He is the winner of the very prestigious award for the entrepreneur of the year "Central European Startup Awards" for 2019.

An Iranian diplomat's 20-year prison sentence in Belgium for plotting to bomb an opposition rally outside Paris was confirmed on Wednesday after letting an appeal deadline lapse, prosecutors said.

Assadollah Assadi, 49, was convicted in February by an Antwerp court of supplying explosives for the planned June 30, 2018 attack on the exiled opposition group the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI). 
-Mr Assadi's lawyer has failed to lodge an appeal- a spokesman for Belgium's federal prosecutor's office told AFP.
Three individuals sentenced to between 15 and 18 years in prison as accomplices are maintaining their appeals against their convictions, the spokesman said.
Iran has protested Assadi's conviction. Days after the February verdict Iran's foreign ministry summoned Belgium's ambassador in Tehran to convey its fury. 
Belgian police thwarted the 2018 attack when they intercepted a car carrying the bomb, acting on information gathered by several European intelligence services.
Assadi, who was attached to Iran's embassy in Austria at the time, was arrested the following day in Germany, where he was deemed unable to claim diplomatic immunity.
Investigators concluded that he was an Iranian agent working under diplomatic cover.
The trial featured surveillance images of Assadi dressed as a tourist, in a hat and with a camera, handing a couple a package in Luxembourg on June 28, 2018. 
The couple -- Nasimeh Naami and Amir Saadouni, both Iranian-Belgian dual nationals -- were found to have accepted from Assadi a half-kilo of TATP explosives and a detonator.
Another Iranian-Belgian, former dissident Mehrdad Arefani, was also found guilty of being an accomplice, tasked with guiding the couple to the rally.
The NCRI gathering included senior leaders of the dissident group and some high-profile supporters, including former US president Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
There are concerns Iran might seek to pressure Belgium to release Assadi by detaining more European nationals.

Iran diplomat's 20-year sentence for France bomb plot confirmed

A group of ten Belarusians has filed a criminal complaint in Germany against President Alexander Lukashenko and members of his regime for crimes against humanity, lawyers representing them said Wednesday.

Acting on behalf of "torture victims", the lawyers have submitted a complaint to federal prosecutors in the city of Karlsruhe against Lukashenko "and other Belarusian security officers", they said in a statement.
The federal prosecutor's office confirmed to AFP that it had received the complaint.
Lawyers Mark Lupschitz, Onur Ozata, Roland Krause and Benedikt Lux said they had documented more than 100 examples of "violence, systematic torture and other abuses" during the government crackdown on protests against alleged electoral fraud since August 2020.
-The incumbent government is severely oppressing its own population with a crackdown including arbitrary arrests, politically motivated criminal persecution and other forms of repression- they said. 
The lawyers added that the plaintiffs had all been imprisoned and reported instances of "spurious arrests, torture and abuse" while they were held.
-Furthermore, they were held in much too small cells or transport vehicles, and were physically abused, humiliated, threatened, insulted and degraded in other ways- they said.
The case is being brought on the principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows a foreign country to prosecute crimes against humanity, including war crimes and genocide, regardless of where they were committed.
The German government had said in February it was ready to host 50 opponents of Lukashenko after months of protests were met with harsh crackdowns by the regime.
Lukashenko claimed victory for a sixth term in August elections that were widely criticised internationally and by the opposition as fraudulent.
State authorities responded to weeks of mass protests with force and have sentenced hundreds of people to lengthy jail terms. Opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who says she won the vote, fled abroad.

No miner will lose his job, FB&amp;H Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić said at a press conference after a meeting held today between representatives of the ministry, Elektroprivreda B&amp;H (B&amp;H Electricity Company), as well as representatives of the Independent Trade Union of Coal Miners of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was adjourned, and according to Džindić, they agreed only on the first of the eight items of the agreement that the Union proposed to the other two parties this morning as their demands.
Most of the misunderstandings were related to the planned dismissal of employees in the mines, based on the restructuring plan, which, according to Džindić, are staff and not miners. If a plan for the dismissal of a miner was made by mistake, that will be corrected quickly, he stated.
The Minister believes that an agreement is still possible and expresses readiness for resumption of talks as soon as possible.

The report that the High Representative in B&amp;H Valentin Inzko will present today at the UN, in the part that refers to the problems of the functioning of the rule of law in our country, states the problems with the law of ISA Director Osman Mehmedagić and B&amp;H Court President Ranko Debevec.
The report warns that the mandate of the current director general of the B&amp;H Intelligence and Security Agency (ISA) has expired and that a new appointment must be made.
- The appointment was obviously postponed, apparently due to doubts about the accuracy of the current director general's evidence of the education required by law for the position. In October the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H accused the Director General of abusing his position, because under false pretenses he obtained a video from the post office from which the criminal charges against him were sent to prosecutors, in order to determine who filed the charges. He was released in February, but the Prosecution is continuing with other cases against him, the report said.
It is further alleged that in April the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor at the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of B&amp;H (HJPC) filed disciplinary charges against B&amp;H Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić and B&amp;H Court President Ranko Debevec.
- The complaint against Tadić refers to disciplinary criminal offenses due to insufficient commitment to duty, failure to act upon decisions, orders or requests of the HJPC without justified reasons and public conduct detrimental to the reputation of the prosecutorial office. As for Debevec, the disciplinary lawsuit alleges that he intentionally provided false, misleading or insufficient information when applying for his position, as well as for abusing his position and recording private conversations with the ISA director general during the trial, the report says.

No prosecutor's office in Bosnia and Herzegovina has implemented the Law on Protection of Classified Information, Daily avaz has learned. This was also established by the investigation of the State Prosecutor's Office in the case against Osman Mehmedagić Osmica, director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (ISA), concerning the actions of the Commission for Security Checks.

The only judicial institution that conducted security checks was the Court of B&amp;H, while other institutions, federal and cantonal prosecutors' offices, and entity courts did not harmonize the acts with the law.
It is interesting that the Ministry of Security of BiH, more precisely Minister Selmo Cikotić (SDA), refused to act upon the request of the Prosecutor's Office to provide them with this information, to which only he can give consent as a state security body.
However, subsequent checks of persons directly involved in this procedure established that the Law is not implemented or respected at all and that only one institution does so.
On the other hand, despite all this information, the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor (UDT) of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of B&amp;H filed a disciplinary lawsuit against Gordana Tadić, Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H, on April 2nd, stating that she as the head of this institution, violated the provisions of this law.

The lawsuit alleges that Tadić, as the head of the Prosecutor's Office of B&amp;H, failed to initiate the procedure of personal security checks of the staff of the Prosecutor's Office handling classified information, as well as the Council's order that all judicial institutions in BiH implement the obligations and measures of the law.
In other words, Tadić is accused of not sending prosecutors' associates for checks, which no other prosecutor's office in the country has done.
However, Alena Kurspahić-Nadarević, the main disciplinary prosecutor, accused Tadić, although it was established that the HJPC had not yet received a certificate on the basis of which it would perform security checks.

The adoption of a rulebook on this is still in the process, on which the HJPC is working together with an international agency.
All this shows that the only goal is for Tadić, who is "guilty" that the Prosecution dared to accuse the ISA director, to start work on discovering the murderers of Dženan Memić, to start checking the causes of deaths in KCUS, to be removed from this institution under any price.
This point of the indictment against Tadić was inserted at the time when the procedure was conducted against Mehmedagić, who is still under investigation by state prosecutors and who is friends with the President of the Court of B&amp;H, Ranko Debevec.

Europe's medicines watchdog said Tuesday it has started reviewing China's Sinovac coronavirus jab, a process that could lead to eventual approval for the European market.

Made by Sinovac's Beijing-based Life Sciences unit, the vaccine by the Chinese biotech firm is the second shot developed outside the West after Russia's Sputnik V to be considered for European use by the European Medicines Agency.
The EMA's human medicines committee's "decision to start the rolling review is based on preliminary results from laboratory studies (non-clinical data) and clinical studies," the Amsterdam-based agency said.
-These studies suggest that the vaccine triggers the production of antibodies that target SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, and may help protect against the disease- it said in a statement.
The Sinovac vaccine contains an inactivated form of coronavirus that cannot cause the disease. It also has a substance that helps strengthen the immune response to the vaccine.
When given the shot, the immune system identifies the inactivated virus as foreign and them makes antibodies against it, which will also recognise the active virus and defend the body against it, the EMA said.
The EMA will now continue the review until there is enough information for the company to make a formal application for it to be released to the market.
-While the EMA cannot predict the overall timelines, it should take less time than normal to evaluate an eventual application because of the work done during the rolling review- it said.
Sinovac's shot was approved by China's medicines regulator for use in February.
Currently the Sinovac vaccine is in use in at least 22 countries including several in Latin America, Africa and Asia, according to an AFP count.

German police have arrested a man they suspect of sending threatening letters inspired by a shadowy neo-Nazi cell that committed a string of racist murders in the 2000s, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The 53-year-old unemployed German national had been convicted in the past of crimes linked to the far right, the prosecutor's office for the western city of Frankfurt said.
He is "strongly suspected" of having sent, since August 2018, a series "of threatening letters with hateful, insulting and threatening content" under the pseudonym "NSU 2.0", the prosecutor said.
The name refers to the National Socialist Underground, a neo-Nazi extremist group uncovered in 2011 that murdered 10 people and planted three bombs.
The letters were mainly addressed to public officials, notably members of the federal parliament and that of the Hesse region.
Investigators had initially suspected that the man was linked to the police themselves, as information on the people threatened had been collected from police stations.
But prosecutors said the person detained was not a police officer. The suspect was taken into custody at his Berlin apartment during a search.
The assassination in June 2019 of pro-migration politician Walter Luebcke shocked the country and highlighted the growing threat of right-wing extremism.
Previously, the NSU was able to carry out the murders of eight Turkish immigrants, a Greek and a German policewoman as investigators focused their probe in error on members of Germany's immigrant communities.

Papua New Guinea's prime minister launched a nationwide coronavirus vaccine roll-out Tuesday, hoping to quell a runaway outbreak and counter widespread public hesitancy about jabs.

James Marape said a batch of 100,000 vaccines had arrived in Papua New Guinea and would be distributed countrywide, as he urged sceptical health workers and the general public to get vaccinated.

The first US military helicopters, that will take part in the "Quick Response 21" bilateral exercise together with the Armed Forces of B&amp;H, landed yesterday at the Dubrave airport near Tuzla.
 
The arrival of the remaining US helicopters is planned in the coming days, and before the start of the exercise, an increased number of helicopter flights is expected in order to get acquainted with the terrain configuration in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the AFB&amp;H and the US Embassy announced via social networks.
These are the first two UH-60 helicopters from the Combat Aviation Brigade of the 1st Infantry Division of the US Armed Forces, stationed in Poznan, Poland. They were welcomed by members of the 5th Infantry Brigade of the AF B&amp;H and the staff of the Tuzla International Airport.
