Bosnia and Herzegovina has been on Moneyval's so-called "gray list" since last Friday, which, as warned, could have serious consequences for the economy, investments, and citizens.
In response to this, state delegate Safet Softić (SDA) has spoken out, directing criticism at the Presidency of BiH Chairman Denis Bećirović, as well as other political actors.
Softić notes that Moneyval's decision was met with reactions mainly from Elmedin Konaković and his coalition partner Srđan Amidžić, while others, as he says, largely remained silent.
He further emphasized that some are attempting to downplay the situation by claiming that BiH "could have fared worse," meaning it could have ended up on the black list, while some politicians, according to his words, are focused on diverting attention to other topics or are not commenting.
Softić particularly criticized Denis Bećirović, stating that, as he claims, such issues do not interest him and that he does not speak out unless it brings him political promotion.
He calls out Bećirović and demands accountability.
- Did someone inform him that we are on the "gray list"? Does he bear any responsibility for the fact that the Council of Ministers of BiH, to which he, overriding Komšić, gave a mandate, has not done anything in two years to prevent sanctions and the activation of the "gray list"? Does he care that neither the FBiH Government, in which sit ministers from parties for which he is the candidate, has fulfilled its part of the obligations? Has he spoken with the Council of Ministers and the FBiH Government, has he asked them what the problem is, has he put pressure on them to do their part of the work? Of course not. Just as he did not react to the cursing of genocide, nor to 100 million for the building of Dodik's godson, the halted EU path, blockades in the House of Peoples. He does not comment on scandals, he is silent about "embezzlement," arrests of ministers of the Troika, investigations by international prosecutors regarding highways. He covered up state theft through Highway toll collection, and he is silent about the plundering of the Federation by the RS entity... He is silent about everything. There is no issue concerning the state and the position of Bosniaks that interests Denis Bećirović. He is exclusively interested in his campaign and pictures on Facebook - Softić concluded.
