Entrepreneur Dorian Porter is inspired by Nikola Tesla, and in his honor he started a campaign for placing a life-size statue of the famous scientist in Palo Alto and it serves as a public Wi-Fi router. 

Porter gathered over 127.000 dollars for this project over the Kickstarter site.

Statue of Tesla is 1.87 meters tall and made from bronze, sculpted by Terry Gayer. Statue of Tesla is holding a giant wireless light bulb.

Besides serving as a public Wi-Fi, statue has a “time capsule” that will be opened on 7th January 2043. on 100th anniversary of Tesla’s death.
