Florence Hartmann, a former spokesperson for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and journalist, has voiced confidence that, based on the documents and talks, the major responsibility for the events in Srebrenica lies with France, the United Kingdom and the United States.

It was important to them to get peace at any price, and that price was eight thousand men and boys from Srebrenica, Hartmann told Croatian Radio-Television.

She voiced the belief that the three states sacrificed Srebrenica in order to make Slobodan Milosevic sign the Dayton Peace Agreement, or concede to peace, and so they could withdraw their troops from Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Hartmann has just published her second book dealing with the war in BiH- “The Srebrenica Affair: The Blood of Realpolitik”.

The commemoration at the Potocari Memorial Center will on Saturday mark 20 years since the mass killings of Bosniaks in Srebrenica which, according to the ICTY indictment, were committed by members of the armed forces of Republika Srpska in July 1995.
